Weekend Relaxer #30
This week I learned that Podunk Nowhere, Michigan carries Dogfish Head beer. This is one of the breweries Madison lost due to a popularity spike thanks to the movie Beer Wars. Considering I very much enjoy this brewery, I could not pass up the opportunity to enjoy some of their fine artistry. This also made for great times during the many gaming sessions during my visit with a good friend.
As far as how this tastes, well, that is a hard one to pin down due to the sheer complexity of this brew. It is definitely hoppy, but not with the crazy off the wall bitterness that comes with an IPA. The malt sweetness kicks in just before the hops have a chance to fully rock out, thus providing a nice balance. All this is on top of various floral and citrus notes that come and go throughout the entire beer. Honestly, I enjoyed this beer more than I should have!
