Weekend Relaxer #40
There should no longer be any doubt that fall is officially here. I mean my yard is now chockfull of leaves while my car seems to be a magnet for the stuff falling from the trees. It sure does make for a few gorgeous days as there is so much red, orange, yellow, and bronze colors scattered throughout the skyline. Now I just need some warm apple pie and zucchini bread to warm me up on the cold days that lie ahead.
As I continue my search for great pumpkin beers, I stumbled onto this Pumpkin Ale from Stevens Point Brewery the other day. I will start by saying this is a beer you want to warm up just a bit as the flavors come into their full potential the closer to room temperature this is consumed. What sits inside the bottle is damn near a pumpkin pie, but with an alcoholic kick. I found cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, and clove to all make an appearance alongside the pumpkin. This is also a relatively sweet beer with very little bitterness from the hops coming through. Heck, I may need another four-pack just to get me through the weekend!
Cheers!
